The season has been bad, to say the least, for the Los Angeles Lakers. Almost half into the season, many NBA analysts have counted the team out of the playoff picture. After creating big news during the offseason for acquiring Steve Nash and Dwight Howard, the team has failed miserably to live up on the hopes of championship. It’s hard to find online sports betting sites that show the Lakers are favored to win in their games.
All too often, the current standing of the Lakers is blamed to their lack of defense. And the lack of defense is blamed on the old roster.
However, the problem goes beyond defense and the team’s age. Their offense has been inconsistent, constantly changing back and forth from a thing of beauty to a sight that’s just cringe worthy. And I put this responsibility on Steve Nash. And I’m not saying this because he can’t defend nor am I taking a shot in his offense. It’s just a simple case of Nash not doing as much as he can to make the Lakers win. During his time in Phoenix, I have always admired him for creating plays that gave his team the best opportunities for scoring. Whether it was shooting or passing, there was aggressiveness in his plays that made him so effective. I thought he showed that during his first two games coming back from the injury by taking shots that secured the wins. Then, it just disappeared. The past games, he was too cool, too nice and too relaxed. A turnaround for the Lakers isn’t going to happen with that.
The next game for the Lakers is against the Milwaukee Bucks. An online bookie, sports bet Australia, have a odds against the Bucks.
