The Unraveling Brooklyn Nets

At the start of the season, the Nets changed their address from New Jersey to Brooklyn with the official unraveling of the Barclays Center Arena. Half a season later, the Brooklyn nets are unraveling again, in a disappointing kind of way. If you've been tuning into online sports betting sites, you know that the Nets have been very inconsistent for the part of the season. A hot start for the season showed a bright future ahead. Then a month of slump with a seemingly uninspired offense resulted to Avery Johnson getting kicked out of his coaching position. When PJ Carlesimo took over as coach, they started playing like a rejuvenated team. A month later, they are going back to their lackluster plays and confusing everyone in the realm of online sports betting sites.

So what is exactly wrong with the Brooklyn Nets? Well, just to get it out of the topic, these are not mood swings.

Defensively, the Nets are not that bad of a team. That makes us look into the offense of the team. If you’ve watched the team since the beginning of the season, not much has really changed for the team’s offense coupled with minor tweaks in the rotations.

The bottom line is that the team’s offense is terrible. They don’t call out and make plays that give them the best shots as much as possible. Most of the time, they take the most convenient shots, and those are shooting long jump shots in front of defenders. It’s fine if the shots are going in, but they are inconsistent with those shots and the team is as inconsistent as those. If you noticed, they pile up leads when they deliberately take the ball inside. Whether it’s their front court scoring or passing out for a better shot outside, forcing the ball inside should be the primary intention of the play.

Another reason for the team’s lackluster performance is Derron Williams, but we’ll get to it in another post. Anyway, if you’re looking to bet on NBA games from the land down under, check out the sports bet Australia.
